Take your first step to your new path to healing

Ketamine, a drug discovered in 1957, was later approved by the FDA for use in 1970 as a short acting general anesthetic. More recently, Ketamine has been repurposed at a lower dose to help treat patients suffering with psychiatric disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, particularly those who have not responded to traditional methods of treatment. Over the past 15 years, a multitude of clinical trials have proven Ketamine to be a viable alternative to antidepressants.

In sub anesthetic doses, Ketamine produces antidepressant effects to patients suffering with psychiatric disorders, including PTSD, Depression and Anxiety. IV Ketamine treatments have been researched and shown highest efficacy among 6 IV infusions that occur over a 3–4-week span, each lasting approximately 60 minutes.

Ketamine is used Dailey in hospitals and is an FDA approved drug with an on label purpose of anesthesia. Over the last half century, doctors have discovered multiple uses for ketamine in treating mental health conditions. In fact, the evidence is so strong the American Psychiatric Association put out a statement saying that the antidepressant effects of ketamine are both rapid and robust.

Ketamine experiences are spaced safely apart and the program lasts a few months, so the risks of long-term exposure are rare. One such rare long-term side effect in daily users of ketamine includes inflammation of the bladder. The other side effects which are related to the experience itself are short-lived and include a modest increase in heart rate and blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, altered state of consciousness, and impaired motor coordination. All these symptoms fade rapidly in a period of 2-4 hours after the ketamine session as ketamine is rapidly cleared from your body.

Due to IV Ketamine being used as an off-label medication it is not yet covered by insurance providers, however we will provide all our patients with a superbill, which we encourage you share to your provider to determine whether certain parts of the treatment e.g. the psychiatric evaluation falls under your current plan.
